Col. Chet Bradford was glad to return to his quarters.  The "Colonel" was actually an honorary title....he was an English teacher at Shady Grove Military Academy. The kids had really gotten on his nerves today.  He was the youngest teacher on staff, and they thought they could play him more than the other old-timers on the faculty.  In retaliation, Chet had assigned a 1,000-word essay to the class titled: "An Officer and a Gentleman: Define!"  Chet was exhausted as he turned the knob of his homey residence and stepped in.

Little did Chet know, but the turning of the doorknob sealed his fate.  As he stepped through the doorway, something heavy and blunt connected with the back of his head.  The handsome teacher went down like a sack of bricks.  Out cold, he could have no idea who his assailant(s) was.  But, in fact, they were 3 of his students, who were in no mood to write a 1,000 word essay that evening.

Chet's aching head slowly cleared.  As the fog lifted, he was amazed to find himself immobilized.  An instinctive cry was muffled by a thick strip of duct tape plastered over his mouth, and his arms and hands were pinioned.  Chet worked out at the school gym every morning, and he couldn't believe that a few yards of clothesline had rendered him helpless.  He grunted and shifted his shoulders, trying to stretch his upper arms, but the ropes held taut.  And then his attackers came into view..three of them...wearing black jeans and T's and spandex hoods which completely obscured their faces.  Without a word, two of them approached him with more rope, and quickly tied his knees and ankles. Chet grunted in outrage through his gag as he was pushed down and made even more helpless than before.

Chet watched them move around his home.  They didn't seem to be interested in stealing anything.  They remained completely silent, except for an occasional muffled snicker escaping through their masks as they observed their tied and gagged victim.  As Chet's clouded vision finally cleared completely, he thought he recognized something familiar about his three attackers.  Their movements indicated that they were young men, probably as young as his senior students.  If he didn't know better.....he'd swear the tallest one was Tim McNamara, the lead wiseass in his class.  But it couldn't be....they wouldn't dare...attacking, knocking out, binding and gagging a teacher would mean immediate expulsion, and criminal charges.  But, then again, some of these spoiled rich punks would do anything to get thrown out, and their wealthy daddies would cover up any charges they incurred. No...it couldn't be.....

"How ya like being on the receiving end of the bullshit, Teach?" the tallest one said.  He yanked off the spandex hood.

Tim McNamara!!

Chet grunted in anger..the tape gag muffling his expletives into nonsense.

"MMMMPPPFFFFFHHHHH!"

Chet's mind whirled....he couldn't believe that any student would go this far.  But he knew damn well the cowardly administration would cover it up and if he wanted to keep his job, he'd have to shut up too.  What a REVOLTING development!!
