Kyle thought it was the easiest bet he could win. He was a man who could talk himself out of any situation possible but his friend had other ideas.
'This isn't so much a talk your way out kind of deal' his friend said cryptically as they hung out in Kyle's bedroom.
'What kind of deal is it then?' Kyle asked, cynicism creeping into his voice.
'You like a challenge, right?' The friend asked coyly and Kyle could see his friend was taking items out of his bag. Kyle did not like where this was going but said nothing for the time being.
'Oh, now I get it,' Kyle looked at the items, before asking. 'How long do I have?'
'Seeing as you're so good at getting out of things,' the friend smiled suggestively, 'let's say twenty minutes'.
'And if it takes longer than that?' Kyle asked, allowing himself to surrender as his friend picked up the first item and grabbed both of Kyle's arms.
'Then it's not good for you' the friend replied, before asking. 'You're not nervous, are you?'
Kyle said nothing but shot him a cocky smile. He was nervous but his friend didn't need to know that.
Five minutes later, Kyle was bound, gagged and blindfolded on his own bed while his friend went downstairs to get something to eat. He had twenty minutes to get himself out of the bind he was in. The friend had said the ropes wouldn't be too tight. Kyle realized the friend had lied as his attempts to get loose weren't successful.
Soon enough, twenty minutes had passed and with only the blindfold down from eyes, Kyle could see that his friend was looking too pleased with himself. This was one situation Kyle could not wriggle out of.
